The Ravnos are the tricksters and charlatans of the Kindred. They generally have Jester-type natures but can
change their demeanours at a moment's notice. Ravnos are driven by a clanwide compulsion for larceny and deception, as well as a powerful wanderlust. These masters of illusion, -primarily of Indian and Gypsy stock, lies and deceit owe allegiance to themselves
first, their clan second, and to no one else at all. Ravnos find no greater pleasure than taking advantage of other Kindred, and a vampire is advised to watch his wallet and pants while these are around. Theft and con games are the most common aspects of the ravnos lifestyle and constant travelling makes it harder for them to be caught. Anyone who attempts to prevent a Ravnos from entering a city is given the "treatment"- large groups of the clan will enter the city and give it a thorough scouring, -so most Princes (overseers of the cities) have learned that it is more trouble to attempt to keep a Ravnos from one's city than to wait for the wastrel vampire to become bored and move on.
Suspension of Disbelief
A Ravnos with this power can imbue her Chimerstry with a sense of reality that makes it easier for viewers to believe in the illusion. No matter how strange or surreal the illusion is, an onlooker will accept it as real. If the illusion is wildly unrealistic (fire-breathing dragons, a pack of gray aliens), once it is no longer in his sight, the observer will question what he saw and eventually deny the event ever happened.
